What we like

  • Produces a batch of ice in about 6-7 minutes once it's warmed up, quick by countertop standards
  • Genuinely one-button operation — no app, no modes to learn, no manual required after day one
  • Small enough footprint to live on a corner of counter or a dorm-room desk
  • Been on the market long enough that parts, manuals, and troubleshooting threads are easy to find

What we don't

  • The ~1.5 lb basket has no compressor of its own, so unused ice melts and recycles back into the tank within a few hours
  • No self-clean cycle — descaling the reservoir is a manual job with a bottle brush and vinegar
  • Bullet ice is hollow and thin-walled, so it's built for volume, not for slow-sipped drinks
  • Housing is thin plastic that flexes under a firm push and shows scuffs quickly
